Avast, landlubbers! Prepare to raise the Jolly Roger and unleash your inner pirate, for Hastings Pirate Day is upon us! This weekend, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July 2023, Goldstar’s beloved home town transforms into a swashbuckling haven, as scallywags from far and wide gather to celebrate in true pirate style. As Goldstar IT are Hastings-based, we can’t look the other way so instead we invite you to join the festivities and embark on a seafaring adventure like no other!
Avast, me hearties! As the sun peeks over the horizon, the echoes of “Yo ho ho” fill the salty sea air, signalling the start of Hastings Pirate Day. Don your finest pirate attire—tricorn hats, eye patches, and billowing shirts—and prepare to plunder the town’s streets with merriment and laughter. It’s a day where we can all unleash our inner Jack Sparrow and embrace the spirit of adventure.
What’s on in Hastings for Pirate Day 2023
The streets of Hastings come alive with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. From the Old Town to the seafront, you’ll encounter a treasure trove of pirate-themed activities. Join in the Great Buccaneers Procession as it leaves Hastings Town Centre at Noon on Sunday heading for Hastings Old Town. There will then be live music at the Stade Open Space along with Blackbeards Market, Food (Hog Roast, Caribbean and Vegan) with side shows, pirate acts, storytelling, games and treasure hunts… some fantastic prizes too, and other surprises along the way.
Ahoy! The fun doesn’t stop with the parade. Venture into the bustling marketplace, where local vendors and artisans offer their wares with a pirate twist. Discover hidden treasures and indulge in delectable treats fit for a swashbuckler’s appetite. Try your hand at pirate-themed games and challenges, from sword fighting and treasure hunts to peg-leg races that will test your seafaring skills.
Later in the day the Stade Open Space, Old Town, Hastings hosts this year’s “Shiver-Me Timbers” cabaret from 6pm, raising much-needed doubloons.
This is an evening of piratical shenanigans and debauchery headlined by none other than the great “Old Time Sailors”. Put on your glad rags, stockings and boots and walk the plank to the hottest show in town!
Just like Fat Tuesday, Hastings Pirate Day is full of love for live music so it doesnt stop with the Pirate Cabaret! There is music across the town, and Pirate-based activities everywhere – check out the Pirate Day home page for everything going on!
