Hastings Fat Tuesday fever hits
Fat Tuesday is a Hastings cornerstone. We couldn’t let East Sussex’s own Mardi Gras pass without recognising its importance to our local community.
Hastings Fat Tuesday CIC is a not for profit organisation. As such local community support is essential for Hastings Fat Tuesday to support and develop opportunities for local artists, grassroots music venues, the cultural economy and the community of Hastings and St Leonards.
Music is a vital aspect of that and as such there are over 350 free performances in the five day long festival with acclaimed artists from across the South-East appearing alongside a wealth of local bands.
So we thought what better way to celebrate being a Hastings-based business in the run up to Hastings biggest music event than ask the team to share their current playlists and Fat Tuesday gig recommendations.

Rod’s a bit of an old rocker really…
My playlist is quite eclectic really but as Goldstar are a data-driven business let’s look at my most played albums…
And my pick for Fat Tuesday performances has to be Frank from Blue Velvet – check them out at Albion, 33 George St, Hastings, Saturday @ 1530
Paul’s all in with some disco and house

Some serious dub and reggae for Aminah
I’ll be heading down to the East Hastings Sea Angling Association on Tuesday, 21st for their 4th Annual Reggae Room Party!
Hosted by MIGHTY SOUNDS and the DUB GENERALS from 8 pm, at The Stade, Rock-a-Nore Rd, Hastings.
Ingrid likes a different take on the ‘classics’
I’ll have something like Easy All Stars’ Dubber Side of the Moon on in the background…

More relaxed acoustic music for David
While working I love listening to a familiar track but as an acoustic cover. Something like this Spotify playlist.
Fat Tuesday is going to be more acoustic for me with King Size Slim on Unplugged Saturday 18th February @ The Crown, 64-66 All Saints’ Street, Hastings.
Bret pays ‘Tribute’ to some Reggae
I heard this today, its not the greatest song in the world…
For Fat Tuesday, I’ll be joining Aminah at the Reggae Room Party at East Hastings Sea Angling Association on Tuesday, to catch Cheshire Cat and Mad-X!
