Zoho Books UK Edition is Now Ready for MTD for Income Tax

Earlier, we shared the exciting news that Zoho Books now supports sole traders in the UK. Today, we’re thrilled to build on that momentum with another important milestone:

Zoho Books is now officially HMRC-recognised and MTD-compliant accounting software for sole traders.

This is a major step forward for UK sole traders preparing for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax, and we’re pleased to offer early access to this feature.

What’s New?

The MTD for Income Tax capability in Zoho Books (UK Edition) is now live in early access. You can start using it today to support your sole trader clients — well ahead of the 2026 mandate.

Get in touch with us and we can have the feature enabled for you.

Why MTD for Income Tax Matters

From April 2026, sole traders with more than £50,000 annual revenue will be required to keep digital records and submit quarterly income and expense reports to HMRC, replacing the current once-a-year self-assessment process.

Zoho Books makes this transition easy by offering:

  • Digital record-keeping of business income and expenses
  • Quarterly updates to HMRC directly from the platform
  • A free plan that includes everything you need to get started

No more manual forms, XML files, or offline uploads. Just seamless, HMRC-ready reporting — for free.

What’s Included in the Free Plan?

Zoho Books’ free plan for sole traders is already powerful, and it’s getting even better in the next couple of days:
