Hastings Fat Tuesday fever hits
Fat Tuesday is a Hastings cornerstone. We couldn’t let the UK’s largest Mardi Gras, and the 15th anniversary pass without recognising its importance to our local community.
Hastings Fat Tuesday CIC is a not for profit organisation. As such local community support is essential for Hastings Fat Tuesday to support and develop opportunities for local artists, grassroots music venues, the cultural economy and the community of Hastings and St Leonards.
Music is a vital aspect of that and as such there are over 350 free performances in the five day long festival with acclaimed artists from across the South-East appearing alongside a wealth of local bands.
So we thought what better way to celebrate being a Hastings-based business in the run up to Hastings biggest music event than ask the team to share their current playlists and Fat Tuesday gig recommendations.
Paul’s all in with some disco and house
Rod’s a bit of an old rocker really…
My playlist is quite eclectic really but as Goldstar are a data-driven business let’s look at my most played albums…
And my pick for Fat Tuesday performances has to be The Curst Sons – check them out on Tuesday 13th February, at 10pm, at Porters, 56 High Street, Hastings, TN34 3EN
It’s Johns first Hastings Fat Tuesday!
This will be my first Fat Tuesday and I’ve been recommended to go to the FAT TUESDAY TOUR. The main event – with twelve venues hosting 24 established acts, playing 20-minute sets in 3 venues each. I’ll head to Jenny Lind, 69 High St, Hastings TN34 3EW, for 8pm on Tuesday the 13th and start things off with LOST REVELLERS!
Some serious house, drum and Bass, dancehall and dub for Aminah
I’ll be heading down to the East Hastings Sea Angling Association on Tuesday, 13th for Mad-X
Hosted by MIGHTY SOUNDS and the DUB GENERALS from 8 pm, at EHSAA, The Stade, Rock-A-Nore Road, Hastings, TN34 3FJ
More relaxed acoustic music for David
While working I love listening to a familiar track but as an acoustic cover. Something like this Spotify playlist.
Fat Tuesday is going to be more acoustic for me with King Size Slim on Unplugged Saturday, 10th February @ The Carlisle, 24 Pelham St, Hastings TN34 1PE, UK
Vicki loves some indie… and a bit of rock
Off the top of my head I’d go with;
I think I’ll stick with some indie for Fat Tuesday. ANNA PAGE and her set for Unplugged Saturday at Heist, 22-26 Norman Road, St Leonards-on-Sea.
Being Hastings-based and deep in the community we are looking forward to getting involved and having some fun over the Fat Tuesday weekend!
