As proud residents of Hastings ourselves, we understand the importance of supporting local businesses and events that make our town truly special. That’s why we love Jack-In-The-Green. The event is not just celebrating spring; you’re also championing our vibrant community and helping us create lasting memories right here in our beloved town.
What is Hastings Jack-In-The-Green?
For those not in the know, Hastings Jack-In-The-Green is a beloved local tradition that celebrates the arrival of spring in the most vibrant and whimsical way possible.
Picture this: a procession of fantastical characters, bedecked in elaborate green costumes, parading through the streets, accompanied by music, dance, and an air of enchantment. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale right in the heart of our charming town.
This year our very own Vicki Goldsmith will be in the procession herself as a Green Lady Guardian! Green Lady Guardians are elemental nymphs and are a big part of the procession on Monday.
On Saturday they will be in the Old Town, Hastings to encourage people to add messages, greenery or flowers to the green Lady’s skirt and keep their collection buckets full!
